Why do companies use candidate assessment platforms?

Testing candidates help companies ensure that their job candidates really have the required skills to successfully perform their jobs, as they claim in their resume or in a job interview. Without testing your candidates, you’ll end up choosing the best interviewee, not the best person for the job!

Luckily, due to the scientific and technological advancement of candidate assessment tools, these platforms are now available online. This also makes them more affordable than ever, which is very convenient for employers.

Why should companies use online candidate assessment platforms?

5 Mistakes You May Be Making in Your Social Recruiting Process

Social Recruiting

Nowadays, social media recruitment is a well-known practice and most organizations are using it as a hiring tool during their recruitment process. Such companies use the online platform or social media to screen candidates and thus shortlist a select few to be interviewed physically. Social media allows these recruiting companies the option to advertise and market their jobs and also give the potential candidates access to such jobs 24 hours a day. However, most firms find it hard to get the right candidates using social media due to some mistakes they make in the selection process. Avoiding such mistakes gives you the opportunity to choose the right candidate easily.

Here are the 5 mistakes you may be making in your social recruiting process which you can do well to avoid:

  1. Failing to Plan and To Describe Your Scope Properly

This is a common mistake committed by most online recruiters. It is important to plan your recruitment process well and have your company description properly displayed. There are many social media sites and you need only the best candidates.

If you just post the job advert without properly describing it, most candidates may not even bother seeing it. Ensure that you plan well on social media sites to use and employ some strategies to make the advert reach as many people as possible. For instance, you can sponsor your advert and set your preferred target candidates.

  1. Not Defining Your Target Audience

This is a mistake that most hiring firms do when posting jobs on social media. You have to describe your job and state clearly the target audience including the academic qualification, age and the required experience. This gives you a chance to eliminate unnecessary applicants and you will have a chance to choose from the candidates you want. This makes your selection process easier instead of having many applicants that are not qualified.

  1. Limiting Yourself to A Few Social Media Sites

This is another common mistake you should avoid. Researches have revealed that most of the employers only use the common sites such as LinkedIn and Facebook. There are many sites where you can reach all your potential candidates easily. It is a fact that not all candidates are on one site and this explains why you should make use of as many sites as possible. This increases your chances of choosing the right candidate suitable for your job description.

  1. Use of Lengthy Application Process

Most applicants do not complete lengthy application processes. Most firms hiring online lose qualified candidates due to such processes. It is advisable that you make your online application and hiring process simple, short but thorough. This gives many qualified applicants a chance to complete their process and thus you get the best candidate.

  1. Failure to Display the Benefits of Joining Your Company

Most firms do not clearly display the benefits of joining their company. As an employer of choice, you need to convince them that they will not only grow financially but also professionally. This encourages many qualified candidates to apply and you will choose from the best candidates. These benefits can very easily be conveyed via social media though failing to do so can be a mistake.

These are some of the mistakes most recruiters commit while using social media for their hiring initiatives.

While you make sure you avoid these 5 mistakes, you can go a step further to refine your recruitment process by making use of online skill assessments to hire the absolutely right fit for your organisation.

Interact by Xobin, an AI based assessment platform, announces integration with Greenhouse

Leading AI based assessment platform from Bangalore announces integration with the top ATS provider in Silicon Valley.

Greenhouse + Interact

Bengalūru, September 1, 2017 — Interact, the leading AI based smart assessment platform from Xobin, and Greenhouse, the world’s leading recruitment platform, today announced an integration. This integration adds intelligent proctored assessments in every software skill for human resource professionals using Greenhouse’s platform.

Hiring doesn’t have to be crazy. All growing tech companies run into the same fundamental problem while hiring — UNCERTAINTY.

  • Uncertainty about the quality of hire
  • Uncertainty about the team fit
  • Uncertainty about time and money spent.

Interact makes creating and conducting online Assessments easy for recruiters. Its secure environment verifies the integrity of the submission with the keyword pattern analysis and eye motion tracking. Add that to the fact that recruiters can send out invites to all their prospects in a single click, and Interact becomes doubly efficient. With a Candidate Journey and Code Playback, recruiters will have the same degree of trust as if the test was taken in front of their eyes. This removes the necessity of a secondary verification of skills. Thus, saving loads of time per hire, freeing the schedule up and improving productivity. This also ensures that only the most qualified candidates end up being hired.

“Interact is a platform for secure and fast hiring. It uses AI to block improper test attempts. This gives candidates the comfort needed and the recruiters the authenticity they need”, says Guruprakash, the CEO of Xobin.

He further adds “It is exciting to be partnering with Greenhouse and seeing our mutual customers benefit from this combination of tech. Our customers were able to allocate more recruiting resources towards sourcing, improving the overall quality of candidates being evaluated and getting through the Interact Assessments. Thus saving their valuable time.”

Dane Hurtubise, the VP of Platform and Partnerships at Greenhouse had similar things to say about the integration as well, “Candidate integrity and authenticity are two major factors for making impact hires. Interact’s smart assessment platform enables our mutual customers to automate the process of verifying candidate ability and integrity in a single step, saving both recruiter and candidate time and energy. We are thrilled that Interact by Xobin is joining our community of partners!”

Capabiliti launches Wizards to ease the problem of technology adoption for training & assessments by SMBs

Capabiliti launches Wizards to ease the problem of technology adoption for training & assessments by SMBs

Wizards allow companies to tackle specific problems with DIY tools – rather than adopt a complete platform. Available for Single Use and subscription.

New Delhi, 17th January: Capabiliti – the platform promoted by Qustn Technologies has taken a completely new approach to solving some key problems faced by SMBs and Enterprises, and launched Capabiliti Wizards, a technology based device-agnostic platform that allows companies to put up their content seamlessly and train anyone on-the-go.

Elaborating on this development, Mrigank Tripathi, Founder and CEO of Qustn Technologies said, “There are many users who are evolved and comfortable with terms like LMS, mobile learning etc., but there are 10 times that many who just want to get their training problem solved. By launching Capabiliti Wizards, we hope to take away the need for anyone to be bothered with technical jargons or systems, rather just focus on solving your specific problem. The first wave solves the problems of sales, product and compliance trainings, as well as allows conducting critical ready-to-use assessments, surveys and feedback internally. We will continue to add more Wizards to solve other relevant training and engagement problems of SMBs. We have kept the product very affordable, and have been getting some great feedback on it”.

This decision has been taken post studying the data gathered through a research conducted across 1294 SMB decision makers. Over 987 of those surveyed didn’t use formal technology systems and weren’t very conversant with it. 523 of said they wanted to explore technology, but didn’t know how it fit in their present scenario. Two key findings came out very strongly.

Firstly, training the sales force on the product or offering – how to sell it, and how to communicate the features-advantages-benefits of the same in a manner that remained consistent down to the last mile. The second was standard or mandatory assessments that needed to be taken by multiple users. A third ancillary problem that came out was about the prevalent pricing model that hindered technology adoption. Almost every product uses a subscription based approach – and that’s sometimes a deterrent. With Capabiliti Wizards, you have the flexibility of using the product for a single use in case the requirement is sporadic, or taking a subscription approach.

Talking about the need for such a product, Abhishek Joshi, a Capabiliti user and Head L&D of IndiaMart, said, “I used to always struggle with trying to figure out how to update my sales team or conduct mandatory assessments – and till now, it used to be over phone calls and web demos, which didn’t always work given the need for everyone to be available at the same time. Further – it didn’t allow me to track every individual user. It was more like face to face training, without the actual understanding of who is ready to sell and who isn’t. Capabiliti Wizards solves all of that and provides reports on the training progress.”

Sachin Grover, CTO and co-founder of Qustn Technologies said, “Platforms use a linear approach. Input, Processing & Output. What we came to realize is that most people needed help in performing these critical tasks. Also, there are barely any Google searches for technical solutions – but there are many for specific problems like ‘Sales training’ or ‘product training’. People need assistance, and that’s what Wizards is – an approach to remove the problems that are faced by SMBs to conduct trainings and assessments.”.

Recruitment predictions for 2016: HR technology | skeeled.com

This week, the Team skeeled.com is sharing with you some great aspects on how recruitment will evolve in 2016 and how HR technology already has a great role in its current development.

hr-technology.jpg

Modern processes of recruitment still come with downsides in terms of time, cost or even outcome in quality hire. Long hours screening CVs and interviewing candidates? Lack of qualified candidates for the role? High costs in advertising vacancies? Coping with such reality in an ever-increasing competitive market is a challenge for even the most dedicated recruiter.

So far, an online platform such as LinkedIn has proved to be a great substitute to the traditional, time consuming and soon obsolete résumé, however, modern hiring processes already integrate a tremendous boom in the variety of technologies available.

  • Mobile app recruiting: a recent survey conducted in UK and USA shows that close to 80% of active candidates use their mobile to visit a company site and view career opportunities sent to their inbox, while almost 50% of talent acquisition leaders suggest that mobile app recruiting is not a top priority for their company. Such contrasting stats scream out that being unable to adapt to where candidates currently are, may be placing you at disadvantage in comparison to your competitors. And what’s worse, you may simply cease to exist in the eyes of the applicants.
  • Digitized assessment: personality assessments and pre-recorded video interviews are bringing in a better understanding of the candidate and hence improvements in quality hire avoiding future loss in return on employee investment. Based on questions proposed by the recruiter for the specific vacancy, webcam interviews automate the recruitment process and enable the procedure to speed up avoiding time waste and cost in previous phone calls.
  • Applicant tracking analytics: leading companies have already implemented innovative HR analytics in order to recruit and retain the great human potential that often drives superior value in companies. Measuring efficiency in terms of time, cost per hire and relevance of hire helps recruiting professionals to evaluate patterns, make correct predictions and recognize the best change-driver employee. Big data analysis and social media play an important role here.

At skeeled.com, we put our faith on the wonders of HR technology in order to improve, simplify and effectively accelerate your department’s hiring process. For that purpose we have finally developed what every worker in an HR department –from the intern to the manager- always dreamt about so that both efficiency and quality at hiring are enhanced.

The skeeled.com software revolutionizes how recruiters screen, understand, collaborate  and evaluate candidates through its interface of standardized CVs, detailed personality insights and video interviews. It helps reducing recruitment time by 50%, helps saving up to 30% of costs and significantly improving your quality of hire.

For more information, we share with you our latest video. Once again, we would really like to thank you for the reading and do not forget to follow us on LinkedIn for further updates.
