Getting ‘SMART’ About AI

Author: Paul Hardy, Chief Innovation Officer, ServiceNow

Global access to data is exploding. At the same time, our ability to categorise, classify and analyse this data is also expanding. As this new world of data unfolds, businesses are looking to create new data models―and their supporting data analytics functions—to directly and positively impact growth, profit and expansion.

But let’s go back to first principles for a moment. We know that Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML)―when correctly applied—can improve the way organisations work and operate. But do organisations know where to start as they look to create these new data models?

We―and by ‘we’ I mean you as the customers, us at ServiceNow, as well as our partners, everybody basically—need to ask where to categorise and compartmentalise processes and functions to build new digital workflows. We need to examine which aspects of the business should be most directly ‘exposed’ to AI. We also need to know what is and isn’t possible in the short, medium and long term.

In other words, we need to get smart about being smarter if we’re going to bring a new era of business forward. So, what does smart really mean in modern business terms? I think it is time to look at AI and digital workflows through the lens of SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-bound) objectives.

When we use the word ‘specific’ and demand a greater level of product or service specificity, we mean it in the most granular sense possible.

We can’t just say we need more paperclips, more salespeople, more office air conditioning or more field sales automobiles. We need to ask what kind of paperclip shape we need, what colour, what build strength and perhaps even what level of ‘clippyness’ every clip needs to exhibit.

When you are thinking about delivering AI and ML in the business you have to be really focused on what you are trying to achieve―and by that I mean, you need to be able to tie down specific use cases for each and every paperclip.

Getting smart with new digital workflows also requires measurability. If you can’t measure it and put it in your business plan and balance sheet (a process, a service, a workflow element, anything at all) then you need to step back and ask whether you should really be doing it.

The reality is that data is often captured and not ever used. It simply falls unmeasured, and unloved, into the data lake. The real cost of this is the ‘noise’ that is created throughout the business because for one, wasted data goes crashing into the lake and secondly, there is then the splashing that occurs afterwards when users do actually realise that they have to start diving into the lake to look for the data that they might actually need in order to make work experiences better!

Attainability and relevancy

If an AI initiative is not attainable or achievable, then why has it formed a part of your current business strategy in the first place? Nowadays we can forecast how far AI will realistically be able to change any given business in real practical terms.

Similarly, if an AI business initiative is not relevant to the business and not able to exist within the context of the organisation’s current and immediate goals, then it forms no sensible part of any smart business plan.

Lastly, we come to timeliness. In the not so distant past, business cycles and the general approach to commercial objectives were typically annual. In this post-millennial age, firms are measuring themselves in much smaller strategic increments.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and business targets used to change year-on-year. Today, they might be calibrated to change monthly, weekly or perhaps even on the basis of individual (tickets) activities relating to individual jobs.

Your next steps

The goal for any business should be to get to the point where they can use smart digital workflows to drive greater productivity, greater quality of all services and greater experiences for all employees.

We know that an increasing proportion of organisations are already examining where they can bring AI to bear and create new value in their business. We also know that many are already on that road and creating new applications and new experiences. Factors that matter most now include service quality, cost reduction, speedy delivery and the need for geographical availability for all new products and services. These are all the defining trends that should be shaping the way we develop new digital workflows that leverage AI and ML.

As vendors, we need to help businesses identify areas for improvement, not just before they start to lose profits and market share, but more significantly, before they start to actually lose contracts. There’s a new culture for predictive business strategy that we are underpinning and making possible.

Smart is smarter if it is more productive and creates greater experiences for everybody inside and outside your organisation. It’s where the smart money is, believe me.

Some Critical Topics Under Online IT Security Training

As the need for IT security or cyber security is at full swing, it is important for any information technology environment to have security professionals to administer these tasks with perfection. Even though there are many training programs and also the quality and awareness of it has improved a lot over time, one major mistake when it comes to training and administration, it is treated as a tick-box exercise many times than a continuous process.

As cyber threats increase in frequency and intensity for even smaller to the biggest corporate, limitations of the traditional security administration measures needed to be covered up on the go. A security breach is inevitable nowadays, and even though all the defensive controls and security tools are set in the right direction, it is important to ensure that the IT administrator and users should follow all baseline security practices to maintain proper defense and defeat any targeted attacks.

A proactive approach to security

IT security is viewed or considered as an obstacle nowadays, and the measures are designed to keep the data and users safe, which can be a hindrance to effective security administration in the changing times. With the threat of an anytime cyber attack is real, the challenge of any organization is to effectively protect the invaluable assets alongside enabling a highly productive workforce.

In this realm, when someone thinks of an IT security administration career, it is important to have a baseline understanding of the primary topics to be known.

#1. Malware

Malicious software is known as malware. Malware can tamper the information technology operations of a company by affecting machine performance, network performance, data security, etc. Trojans and Viruses are some examples of malware. The best online training for an IT security career will include covert topics like setting automatic updates and tools like Microsoft Security Essentials, Rootkit, Botnet, etc. to deal with malware.

#2. Spyware

Unwanted programs which send some pop-ups or redirect the users to unintentional websites. These can also monitor the browsing activities of users. It is important to have knowledge of anti-virus updates, installation and maintenance of anti-spyware applications and run computer scans to deal with Spyware.

#3. Phishing

Phishing is a very common and dangerous cyber threat, which is done through e-mails as well as malicious sites. The users tend to fall prey to phishing without being aware of it, and the hackers get crucial personal, financial, and business information through this. For security administrators, it is important to learn about various approaches of phishing and then to orient the users about the possibilities and ways to deal with them.

#4. Insider threats

One important, but mostly ignored threat in terms of IT security is the insider threat. A security administrator also should learn to be an expert in data corruption or theft by the insiders in the organization and take measure to counter it. Another major issue due to insider threats is service disruption as we have lately seen at Citibank, which ended up in shutting down many of the routers on receiving many negative performance reviews.

As we can infer from the above, cyber threats are increasing day by day and so as the challenges and opportunities for skilled IT security professionals. For those who are planning for an IT security career, it is important to undergo an advanced career-oriented training online or offline to succeed.

How does Online Privacy and Data Protection Maintain the Security of Users?

Website developers and professionals have to deal with the tricky subject of cookies often. Cookies are highly misunderstood, but these are essential for the websites. However, these can become annoying for the visitors of those websites that have cookies. The debate on privacy in the online world has greatly challenged the use of cookies and has somewhat tarnished their reputation in the online field.

The significance of data protection

In the cyber world, it is needless to say that privacy is a huge issue. This issue was not so predominant in the past but has become a huge problem due to data hacking and illegal dissemination of information through online websites. The norms outlined under the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulations have enacted laws that will impact the business procedure of online organizations to a great extent.

It is important to make the website compliant with the regulations that have been put in place because it will help in staying away from lawsuits for infringement of online privacy. The users will also prefer to visit websites that are adhering to the latest regulations. People generally do not want to make purchases from e-commerce sites which they cannot trust fully, and if data protection norms are not followed, then the customer will never be able to trust the website owner or online company. There are plenty of Free software available, you can on Check Fleep.

The result of a flawed cookie policy

The online visitors are known to visit several websites on a daily basis, and when a person clicks on the link of a website, then he/she gets to see not only the home page of the website but also the policy present for cookies. In this regard, if the website developer/owner frames a poor policy that is communicated in a disappointing manner, then doubts and suspicion will cloud the visitor’s mind, and the potential danger of data-stealing will propel the person to navigate away from the website which is undoubtedly a huge loss for the online business owner. Therefore, requisite permissions should be taken before enabling cookies and cookies GDPR has to be mandatorily followed because asking for forgiveness at a later stage won’t restore the tarnished reputation of the online business before the eyes of the customer.

The rule passed for cookies on websites

The problem with cookies surfaced because it was found that the majority of cookies that are used by websites are responsible for collecting data that is individually identifiable. This is a problem because many people do not want to share personal information on websites let alone allow the sites to transfer or use that personal information. Therefore cookies came under the guidelines of the sweep conducted by GDPR. These guidelines are made with respect to storage as well as handling of data of virtual visitors.

Hence privacy issue for online visitors of websites is adequately addressed by the new data protection rules, and websites need to comply with those norms for making their sites safe for browsing. Users will only browse sites if they are assured of online security.

Why Machine Learning Services are getting Maximum Attention?

Machine learning is one the trending topic these days. Right now, it is a catchword in the field of technology. It defines major representations that how computer can learn in future. Basically Machine learning algorithms are trained with the help of “training set” data.  By using this machine learning algorithm, it gives answer to the questions. For example, in training dataset you will have given pictures of dog to the computer. Some pictures will say, “This is a dog” or some will say, “This is not a dog”. Then you can show a number of new pictures and it would start searching which pictures were of dogs. Every picture which is identify as a correctly or incorrectly gets added to the training set. In this way program efficiently gets “smarter” and better by completing its task over time.

A couple of years back; it was the time of social, mobile, cloud and analytics etc. Although these technologies are still important as they have very good place in digital strategies.  Nowadays big hype is Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Big Data, Machine learning services etc.  It is observed from the various surveys that Artificial Intelligence is the future of Growth.  There are some Artificial Intelligence Consulting companies available which provide number of services in this field. Machine learning is a part of Artificial Intelligence.

Let’s discuss Machine Learning Services which are attention seeker. These services are as follow:

  1. Fraud Detection: In numerous fields, machine learning is much better to spot fraud detection cases. Fraud management has been very aching for the commercial and banking sectors. Due to plethora of payment channel such as credit/debits cards, kiosks, smartphones etc., this menace is increasing day by day. In the similar way, criminals have found out loopholes in these channels. So, it is becoming difficult for the businessman to confirm transactions. However, Data Scientists have been successful in solving this problem with the help of machine learning. For instance, PayPal is using machine learning to fight with these raiders. This company has tools which compare all the transactions and easily distinguish between legitimate and non-legitimate transactions between sellers and customers.
  1. Recommendations: If you are regular user of Netflix and Amazon, then you must be familiar with use of this term. Intelligent algorithms of machine learning are monitoring  your all the activities and compare it with the other number of users and as a result show you which thing you would like to buy. These product recommendation systems are getting smarter every time. Suppose you want to buy light shade jeans of a particular brand, during your search it will also recommend you light shades jeans of some other brands. It will definitely make your shopping better with number of choices.
  1. Natural Language Processing (NLP): NLP is an emerging trend which is almost used in every field. Natural Language with Machine learning algorithms can stand for agents of customer service and in fast way route customers to the information they need. Mostly it is used to translate incomprehensible legalese in contracts into basic language and help prosecutors to handle large volumes of evidence to prepare for a case.
  1. Healthcare: Machine Learning algorithms can practice more information and find out more patterns than the humans can do. Machine learning can recognize risk factors in a better way for sickness in a large population area. A company build Disease Prediction System name “www.AIvaid.com” which based on machine learning algorithm that is capable to diagnose the human health conditions and predict the disease report. There are plenty of symptoms and diseases dataset has been added and working it wonderful. Along with that, Personalized medicine is also one of the effective treatments which relay on the health data of the individual combined with predictive analytics is a latest research and diligently correlated to better disease assessment. For this purpose, supervised learning is used which permits physicians to list out  from more limited sets of diagnoses based on the  symptoms and genetic information.
  1. Smart Cars: IBM recently surveyed top executives and it is concluded that we would see smart cars on road by 2025. It will learn about its owner as well as its environment and integrate it with Internet of Things.  Thus it will automatically adjust its internal setting such as audio, temperature, seat position automatically based on the driver and itself fix problems, drive itself and also give advice about traffic and conditions of the road.

If you want to start your career with Machine Learning, then you can start online and offline course with Dummybyte, here are plenty of course available you can opt with Python.

In the nutshell, we can say that Machine Learning is a buzzword in the world of technology. Machine learning services are wooing more customers due to its smart learning techniques. Self-learning algorithms are now routinely embedded in mobile and online services. Researchers are getting massive gains in processing power and the data streaming from digital devices and connected sensors to improve AI performance. For many organizations, providing machine learning services can be challenging. When machines and human solve problems together and learn from each other, AI full prospective can be achieved.

9 Critical Factors To Consider When Designing Your Brand’s Logo

When you start a business, there are many factors to consider. Your company name, office location, target market, and most importantly your logo. It is the foundation of your business’s branding and identity. It is the face of your business’s product and services. Your logo acts as a direct communication tool with your consumers and therefore should be thoroughly thought about.

In this article, we’ll dive into the 9 crucial reasons why you should care about your logo.

First Impression & Aesthetic Appeal

Your logo is the first impression that customers will have of your business. Just by looking at your company’s logo, customers will immediately come to a first impression conclusion on whether they like the brand or not.

Although it isn’t the only factor that is considered when customers shop around, it can act as a customer magnet if customers are drawn to its aesthetic appeal. An eye-catching and easy to understand logo will engage and draw in customers compared to a logo that is not.

A visually appealing logo is of course the most important attribute to a company’s logo. An offensive or dull logo may discourage people from finding more about your products or services. Although you may have the best products and services in the market, if your logo is poorly designed, it can portray a negative image of your company and its product or service offering.

Make sure that understand your target market well and ultimately design a logo that will inspire and make sense for them.

Additionally, a logo is also at the centre of all website designs. A company’s web design is an extension of the brand’s identity. When getting a website design, it is vital that you choose to work with a web design agency that can best extract the core elements of what the logo truly represents

Impact of Colour

Colours can heavily influence the way your company is perceived. For example, red logos such as Coca-Cola is associated with intensity, energy, passion, exciting and boldness. Green logos such as Starbucks is seen as organic, caring and natural. Whereas, colourful logos such as Google or eBay conveys a great sense of positivity and playfulness.

It is important to carefully craft your logo’s colours together. Think about how each colour will represent your brand and ultimately how these colours will make your customers feel.

Shapes & Patterns

There is an infinite number of ways to use shapes and patterns in a logo. Shapes and patterns, when used correctly form an expression of identity and provide customers with an easily recognisable symbol that is a direct representation of your brand.

For example, a cleverly crafted shape is Australia’s iconic bank, the Commonwealth Bank yellow and black logo. The logo which was incorporated in 1991 is described as “bold, strong, modern and progressive” and represented the bank’s forward-thinking mentality.

The typography of a logo will heavily influence how customers feel about your brand. This includes consideration of font size, italics, boldness and overall use of font families.
For example, a bubble font is seen as a soft and calm font which would suit perfectly for a children’s toy brand – Toys R Us. On the other hand, a bubbling and playful font family would not well represent a professional law firm.

Henny Kel from Design Hill, lists 50 of the engaging fonts to choose from when considering your logo design. Make sure to check it out!

Company’s Values

The reality is that most people will have never heard of your brand before or have even seen your logo, chances are they will judge your company and what it stands for at face value.

If your logo gives off a sense that the products are too expensive, customers may avoid your brand altogether. Likewise, if the logo appears too dull or boring, it may leave them with an impression that your company’s employees, products or services are underwhelming and that they should avoid making any sort of contact.

Meriton, Australia’s largest home builder had recently rebranded their logo and overall company image. The new logo conveys their company’s image and values very well. Through the use of their blue and gold premium brand colours to the use of the sharp typography of their wording, it conveys a strong sense of professional, precision and reliability.

Memorability & Simplicity

Ever heard of the saying “less is more”? It comes from the notion that clarity and simplicity lead to a good and memorable design. Simple logos have a far greater impact on consumers as it allows them to remember and have an appreciation of the brand. It is much easier for the human brain to memorise and process information through unique shapes and colours in your logo.

All popular brands have one thing in common, instant brand image recognition. Think of Nike and you will slowly form The Swoosh image in your head. How about McDonald’s? Almost instantly you can visualise the large golden arches. You get the idea. That is why having a simple yet powerful logo that everyone can remember is vital for instant company recognition.

McDonald’s Canada have even went as far as to use the golden arches as a way to direct customers to the nearest upcoming stores! We think it’s a brilliant idea and proves just how powerful the brand is.

Additionally, an easy to recall logo can help customers identify your company again for future purchases or recommendations to family and friends. “Let’s go to the coffee shop down the road. The one with the green mermaid logo!

It is important that your logo is well-designed since it will be around for as long as the business will be. For this reason, future-proofing the design by looking into modern design trends is highly encouraged.

For example, if your company begins as a small towing company, it is fine to have a towing truck in your logo. But as your company grows and you look to cater to more commercial businesses then a small towing truck in your logo may actually deter companies from contacting you. Your company’s logo will look out of place and will not represent your brand accurately.

Take the German car company BMW for example, not much has changed from their original logo since their 1917 as seen below. The only aspects of the logo which have changed are the typography and colours. This has allowed the brand to remain true to their core brand values.

1917 BMW logo Present BMW logo

Emotional Response

The human brain often connects how things are presented quite literally. We give meaning to everything that we do, touch and feel. A logo has the power to connect with customers on a deep and emotional level.

An easily recognisable and familiar logo can provide emotional warmth to consumers. This is often why animals and food are used in logos to represent brands.

For example, if you are a big fan of Apple products then their logo can actually make you happy and stimulate feelings of comfort and pleasure.

Brand Identity & Loyalty

A company’s logo is extremely important in establishing a theme for the company. It dictates how your company performs its operations, undergoes its development and future transformation.

If the colour of your company’s logo is black and yellow, the operations of the company should follow the same colour scheme otherwise it would look out of place. This includes employee uniforms, website theme, advertising creatives and almost everything associated with the brand.

An easily recognisable logo is crucial to building brand loyalty or be used for personal branding. Consumers who share a sense of Camaraderie from your business’s logo is more likely to purchase your products due to their trust in your ‘brand’. This brand loyalty is stemmed from their satisfaction in previously purchasing your products and services. It makes them feel like they have made the right choice when choosing to repurchase your products.

Final Thoughts

These are the 9 reasons why you should care about your logo. It is the backbone of your business for as long as the company is around. Everything that your company values, provides, believes is perceived and embodied in your logo. It is a powerful symbol of your company’s brand.

If consumers believe that your logo creates a sense of trust, authority or importance then this will be reflected in your products and services. It is the ultimate form of communication tool towards your audience and thus should be given a considerable amount of thought.

The Importance of Targeted SEO to Your Company’s Visibility (& Linkability)

SEO has often been viewed by businesses as an ethereal, mysterious thing that a company does for you, and with a sprinkle of magic marketing dust, you are ranking number one on Google for the right keywords and your niche. However, good SEO has been made up of a number of the same things for several years:

  • Good Web Design: While this goalpost has moved over the years, from optimized for desktop to optimized for mobile, from high-resolution video and photos to speed of loading, a modern web design that is responsive and provides a good user experience is essential.
  • Good Content: A website must have good content, from product pages and descriptions to landing pages and blogs, content needs to be informative, well written, and user-friendly.
  • Backlinks: These can be paid, earned, and social. Google expects businesses to pay for ads, earn links from reputable sites, and appear on social media. Link exchanges and guest posting is one of the best ways to earn backlinks. While the search engine still claims social links and shares do not affect ranking, they certainly can have an effect on organic traffic, and there is some debate about when they might become a legitimate factor.

There is a bit more to it than that. The smarter Google becomes, the more it looks at websites like a human user does. Artificial intelligence and machine learning mean that user experience and relevance will continue to mean more than they ever have. This means SEO work needs to be targeted, implemented with a deliberate strategy, and treated as a continuous process.

Here are some reasons targeted SEO is important to your company’s visibility and linkability:

The Need for Linkable Content

As mentioned above, there are multiple kinds of backlinks. They are paid, earned, and social. The number of paid links your site has can be absolutely controlled by your ad spend. However, earned links can be partially controlled and deliberately built, and social links can be encouraged but only minimally controlled by you.

What is the key to earned and social links? Your content. It also determines how effective any paid links you have to your site are. Simply put, you need linkable content. Category or service pages, product descriptions, and thin blog posts are not link-worthy pages. Years of experience have taught link building companies what linkable content really is.

Fortunately, in November of 2015, everyone got a look at the Google Search Evaluator guidelines at the time. They confirmed much of what we had already learned. Google and users look for a few key things in your content, and Google uses those things to help determine your page rank. It is known as the E.A.T. principle:

  • Expertise: Not only does Google look at your company, but at the author of the content to determine expertise.
  • Authority: This is in the part where links come in. Outbound links to authoritative content establish you as an authoritative source, as do inbound links to the content itself.
  • Trustworthiness: This is also determined by organic, authoritative links to your content and the accuracy of what you have written.

Not only does content need to meet the E.A.T. principle, but it should also be informative and well written. Remember: Content is also a part of user experience, and thin content produces high bounce rates, sending users looking for the information they need elsewhere. It certainly means they will not link to it on their own website or share it on their social media profiles.

What makes content linkable is how informative it is, the clarity of the writing, and how well it is optimized for both search engines and real people. Without content that is worth linking to, it is difficult to either build or earn links.

Researching Relevancy

How do you know if your content is reaching the right searchers at the right time? Fortunately, this is easier to figure out than it ever has been — and yet more challenging as well. There is more data out there about users and their behavior on the internet than at any other time in history, and nearly any business can access this data through some simple analytics tools.

This means not only do we know what our potential customers are interested in, we know how they interact with the internet. Beyond just demographic analytics, we have access to behavioral analytics which are much more powerful.

All this data not only tells us what our ideal customers are searching for but how they are doing it. This can be taken from the general fact that over 60 percent of Google searches are done on mobile devices, and more people than ever are completing purchases on portable devices as well. You can also determine what devices your customers search on most frequently, whether they are iOS users or Android fans, and how much time they spend reading a blog post, and even how many searches they perform for a product or service before they make a purchase.

What this allows you to do is to target your content more specifically, and even create different content that will appeal to different sets of buyers. Relevant content is much more linkable, whether you are earning those links organically, want your users to share it on social media, or are engaged in a link building campaign targeting specific keywords.

Creating a Strategy

Now that you know why linkable content is necessary and you have established what is relevant to your potential customers, you need to create a targeted content strategy. Why? It’s simple: Without targets and specific goals, how will you know if your linkable content is working?

So what is a content strategy? It is deliberately creating content to support your efforts to rank for a specific keyword or set of keywords, and building and working to earn links to that content. This usually involves several pieces of content of varying lengths and types, internal linking, good onsite technical SEO, and content that is well written and informative.

A good SEO company will not only help you with your onsite technical SEO and link building but can also help you with your content strategy and creating linkable content. This entire process, which you should thoroughly understand, takes a lot of time, and unless you have a capable team in your marketing department, the time and money an outsourced expert will save you is more than worthwhile.

Filling in the Content Gaps

So now you understand the need for linkable content, you have done your research and know what is relevant, and you have a content strategy. Now it is time to fill in the content gaps on your website. Whether you have a robust blog filled with content or are just starting out, once you establish your content strategy, you’re going to find that you have content gaps.

What is a content gap? They are areas where you are missing content that is essential to your content strategy. It is essential that you fill these gaps in order to satisfy not only Google but your potential customers. You need the linkable content in order for targeted SEO to be effective.

Want to rank higher in Google for critical searches in your niche? Want your business to be more visible to searchers? It’s all about relevant content that is part of a content strategy, linkable content, and then building links to that content. Those are all a part of targeted SEO, the key to your company’s visibility and linkability.

English Language: Important Topics

English is the trickiest section of all three of IBPS Clerk syllabus. Even those who are good at it mark the wrong answers because of confusion in the similar options.

Let’s have a look at the topics which have high probability to be asked in your exam.

Topics Questions
Reading Comprehension 10
Cloze Test 5-10
Para Jumble 5
Error Spotting 5-10

Reading Comprehension

Now with the introduction of sectional timing, you can give adequate time to English and read the RC properly which was not the case earlier. Read The Hindu or Economic Times and try to grasp the crux of the article. This will help in solving the inference and assumption based questions in your examination. Learn the difficult words and their different usages as 3-4 questions in RC are on synonyms/antonyms.

Cloze Test

It is a very important and easy topic. You can even get 10/10 in this section if you are familiar with grammatical rules. Give attention to proper usage of words. Options may be tricky, so try to find the best fitting option out of all.
For example, words like Enable and Empower are almost same but their usages are different.

Error Spotting

For error spotting, you should refer to any grammar book and clear basics first. Questions on Tense, Subject-Verb Agreement, Conditionals, Clauses, verbs etc. are the most commonly asked Error Spotting Questions. We have quizzes on Error Spotting as well. Make sure to solve at least 20 quizzes before your exam.

Para Jumble

Read all sentences and find the first sentence as it is always easy to do so. Then try to find the connectives between first and second line as the latter always carry on with the idea introduced in the former.

Final Tip:

  • One has enough time to solve English Section now. There is absolutely no need to read fast as in this way you would skip the essence of passage. Read slowly and comprehend this section properly.
  • Keep your accuracy high. Don’t attempt if you are not sure as negative marking can stop you from getting selected.
  • If you do not know the correct answer, try to eliminate the incorrect ones. At least two options can be eliminated easily and then pick the one option which appears better choice than the others.
  • Practice mock test daily to increase your speed in the exam.

Numerical Ability: Important Topics

Here are the probable topics, which one might come across in this exam.

Topics Questions
Series 5
Quadratic Equations 5
Simplification 5
DI (Pie Chart, Bar Graph, Data Table) 10
Arithmetic 10

Quadratic Equations, Simplification and Number Series are the easiest topics. Always start with these topics and try to finish them within 10 minutes. One of the two DI is always easy, so solve that one first. 4-5 questions of Arithmetic are easy in nature so don’t hesitate in leaving tough questions and pick the easy ones because eventually you will get same marks for all the questions.

Simplification and Number Series

For Number Series, learn the squares, cubes, tables, prime numbers and practice lots of calculation. With practice, you can easily identify the pattern of series. Similarly for Simplification, these things will help you a lot.

It is not necessary that you find all these topics in your examination but you have to prepare all these as IBPS keeps shuffling questions from these topics every year.

The best thing you can do for this section is consistent practice. You have to be comfortable with each pattern only then you can solve these questions in limited time at the time of your exam.

We have seen a twist in all traditional questions-

  • Syllogism —— Reverse Syllogism
  • Blood Relationship ——- Coded Blood Relationship/ Seating Arrangement’
  • Inequalities ——– Coded Inequalities

These questions are slightly time-taking than the traditional questions. Practice sectional tests daily with and without timer. Try to improve speed but it should not affect your accuracy.

  • In puzzles and seating arrangement, always start with positive statement.
  • Draw lines in place of circle in circular seating arrangement as it becomes easier to locate persons in lines.
  • Learn family tree and use +/- signs for male and female.

  • Take care of the minute details given in question. (Words like Not, Only, Also are skipped by us sometimes and our entire labor goes in vain).
  • Always select easy questions first and go for puzzles only if you are left with time.

Hope these tips will help you prepare for the IBPS Clerk exam in a much better way. So brace yourself and start preparing with full zeal and devotion.

Among tons of machine learning applications, IOT is among one of them. So what exactly IOT is? Before we discuss the topic in detail let us first equip ourselves about the concept of IOT.

What is IOT?

IOT is known as Internet of Things. It is a system of interconnected devices that share the real time information among them in a network. You may have heard of self driven cars, wearable fitness devices etc. These all are an example of IOT. Machine learning products provide you the solution that is affecting lives of million people.

How exactly IOT functions?

Well numerous devices having sensors are interconnected among themselves on a common platform known as Internet of Things. It helps in sharing data between the devices and provide the desired outputs. This helps in decreasing the gap between physical world and the digital networks.

Take an example of a retail showroom. IOT can help retail showroom in following ways:

By using sensors, IOT can help to know that which the areas where customer is roaming the most are.

Moreover, by applying sensors in shelves of product counter, IOT can tell that which product consumers picked up, put down or buy the product.

IOT also helps in bridging the gap between supply and demand chain by determining that which product is in most demand and which is not.

Having ample knowledge about the IOT, now let us discuss about machine learning applications in IOT.

IOT in Smart Homes: Imagine how awesome it would be if you could turn on your AC before you reach home after a long working day. Or you house can recognise your voice and perform tasks according to your instructions like turning on off lights, turn on your coffee machine, make coffee for you. Life would be a lot easier.
